Who Is David Deangelo?
David Deangelo, born Eben W. Pagan in 1971 in Brooklyn, New York City, is an American author and entrepreneur. He is a member of the Seduction Community, a sub-culture of men who strive for better success with women through self betterment and a better understanding of the psychology of sexual human relationships. He is the founder of “Double Your Dating”, a company that provides dating services and advice to men, mostly through the internet.
Deangelo was originally in real estate but found lessons he was learning from guys he called ‘naturals’ that is men who seemed to have a gift when it came to picking up women – were very valuable. The approach these men took seemed to him unthinkable. They would exude confidence and poke fun at attractive women and try to switch situations so it seemed the women were the ones in control of the flirting. For example, ‘naturals’ would use lines like “I don’t like being used as a sexual object, so you better not try the buying me a drink trick”. Rather than repelling women, these lines worked to attract them and these men were very successful in their quests for women.
Deangelo took the information he gathered from spending time with ‘naturals’ and refined their techniques. He released his ebook Double Your Dating in 2001 and from there his company has expanded. In 2007, Deangelo was employing 200 staff who all operate remotely and his products gross over 20 million per year.
The key to Deangelo’s success is the seeming simplicity of his approach to dating psychology. He looks to the roots of human instinct and sexual behaviour. By looking back to our primitive habits, Deangelo believes he is able to ‘demystify’ the elements that go into attraction. Essentially he working towards breaking down social conditioning that leads men to ignore their basic instincts.
Although Deangelo sees being successful with women as important, he does not believe this will bring you instant happiness. And if you believe attracting women is going to solve all of your problems and bring you inner-happiness then you have other issues that need to be addressed also. His key belief is that if you have the skills to attract women then you will have inner confidence and this is going to increase your ability to be happy in other areas of your life as well.
